Food, Drinks, and Banter: A Night at The Mint Shack

May 01,2025

On a breezy Friday evening in late April, over 80 of our esteemed business partners and friends gathered for what might best be described as a networking event cleverly disguised as a party. The venue? The Mint Shack on Peponi Road — a place that sounds like it serves mojitos by the gallon and, frankly, could. It’s a cozy, open-air setting with just enough rustic charm to make you forget you left your laptop on.

Hosted by FFK, FFS, and BMC, the evening kicked off at 6:00 PM, and from the moment the grills were lit, you could tell this wasn’t going to be your average “PowerPoint-and-painfully-polished-name-tags” affair. No sir. This was all about easy conversation, food grilled right in front of you, and the sort of informal mingling that only happens when you can smell smoke and steak in the same breath.

We were delighted to welcome representatives from a broad range of industries — including the likes of Agritecno, BASF East Africa Limited, KWV, LC Waikiki, Pernod Ricard Kenya, Sinotruk (Kenya) Ltd, William Grant & Sons, SC Johnson, and many more. In short, if you threw a dart at a supply chain map, odds are someone from that region was sipping something interesting nearby.

A few memorable moments? One guest — after a sip too many of a delicious KWV brandy — mused, “I came for the nyama choma, stayed for the surprisingly strategic banter. Classic.

With light music in the background and as introductions turned into opportunities over grilled skewers and casual laughs, the event delivered exactly what we hoped: a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere to reconnect, laugh, and share plans for the year ahead.

And if you missed it? Fear not. We’re already plotting our next customer social — slated for September at a new venue near Lavington. Trust us, it’ll be even bigger, possibly louder, and definitely less formal than your average boardroom.

So stay tuned — and maybe keep your Friday nights open.
